Let this post serve to identify the deepest point of the off-season trough

Apparently Giggles' new copper-roofed mansion merits the front page of the City section.
A report in the Citizen in June said the house, listed for $6 million, was the most expensive property on the Ottawa market.

The purchase comes after Mr. Spezza, one of the top centres in the National Hockey League, accepted a contract extension last November that will pay him $49 million over seven years and keep him in Senators colours through the 2015-16 season.

Lemme guess, this ran above the front page fold in the print edition. Between this and ferret lady, suffice to say it's been a compelling and rich past few weeks of news gathering over on Baxter Road.
